Helia is born in Shiraz in the heart of the old Persia and has the long history of this rich culture running through her vains. As a young Persian girl and daughter of a respected state secretary, Helia decided to dedicate her life to dancing. Helia has travelled from Europe to the United States, to Iran and beyond to continue to enrich her capacities and share the art with her audiences in her performances and in tutoring through workshops.

Helia's fascination with Egyptian dance started almost ten years ago and has led her fully focused on exploring the depts of the art.

Helia has tutored and performed Egyptian dance for years and continues to perform and tutor Egyptian dance in group lessons, private lessons and workshops all over Europe. Helia has founded her own school of world dance, Dansschool Helia, in the Netherlands, where Egyptian and Persian dance are two of her main courses.
